The driver of the car police say was traveling on the wrong side of the highway is in critical condition.

KYLE, TX - Four people were killed after a three-car crash on I-35 in Kyle near Mitchell Motor Sports, police said.

Police in Kyle received a 911 call around 1 a.m. reporting a wrong-way driver heading southbound on the northbound side of the highway, police said in a release. Police then received a separate call reporting the crash.

According to police, four people were killed in the crash including two adult males, one adult female and child between 18 months and 2-years-old.

The driver of a Honda Civic was reportedly going the wrong way on I-35 police said. He remains in critical condition at a hospital in Austin.

A Ford Winstar minivan and a Ford F150 pick-up truck were also involved in the crash. Police said the driver of the pick-up truck was treated and released at the scene. All others involved in the crash were in the minivan, including two young children, who are being treated at Dell Children's Hospital.
