SAN ANTONIO, TX - A grand jury has indicted two former police officers who duped several women into sex under the guise of an "undercover operation" that turned out to be fake.
Emmanuel Galindo and Alejandro Chapahave both resigned their positions after being arrested on several charges, including sexual assault, compelling prostitution and official oppression last September, the San Antonio Express-News reported.
The grand jury indicted both men on Tuesday after their fake police operation began to unravel.
According to the Bexar County District Attorney's Office, police in nearby Live Oak started investigating the two officers after a women reported she had been sexually assaulted in June 2015.
"The victim told police she met the officer after she was referred to him by an SAPD officer who was a friend of hers," the DA said in a press release issued on Wednesday. "The officer she was referred to told her that she could earn up to $ 5000 a day if she qualified for this undercover operation."
